TRACE and eIMPACT Final Conference

"Accident Causation, Safety Benefits and the Socio-economic Impact Assessment of Intelligent Vehicle Safety Systems"

26 June 2008, Paris, France

On June 26, 2008, the European projects TRACE and eIMPACT hold their joint final conference, at which the projects will present their results. Attendees can learn:

  • Insights into injury accident causation
  • How have the safety benefits of IVSS (Intelligent Vehicle Safety Systems) been assessed?
  • How has the cost-benefit analysis of IVSS been performed?
  • What are the results of the assessments?
  • What are the options and challenges in the deployment of IVSS?

Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the findings. At the end of the day, there will be a panel discussion with leading experts. The preliminary program can be found here. [LINK TO PDF PRELIMINARY PROGRAM]

eIMPACT and TRACE are projects in the EU's Sixth Framework Programme of the DG Information Society and Media.

The European project eIMPACT assesses the socio-economic impacts of Intelligent Vehicle Safety Systems (IVSS) and their impact on traffic, safety and efficiency. It also addresses policy options for deployment and the views of the different stakeholders involved in deploying IVSS.

The European project TRACE addresses the aetiology, i.e. causes, of road crashes and the assessment, in terms of salvable lives and avoidable crashes, of the most promising solutions that can assist the road users in preventing or mitigating the consequences of road crashes.

We would like to invite you to attend this final conference. It will take place at the Salons Hoche in Paris, France. The venue is easily accessible by public transport and car. A map and directions can be found here and suggested hotels can be found here.

EIMPACT Stakeholder Workshop

26 February, Utrecht, The Netherlands

The European project eIMPACT assesses the socio-economic effects of Intelligent Vehicle Safety Systems (IVSS) and their impact on traffic, safety and efficiency. It also addresses policy options and the views of the different stakeholders involved in deploying IVSS.

A workshop to develop deployment strategies for IVSS will be held on February 26, 2008. The workshop aims to bring together all relevant stakeholders in the field of stand-alone and co-operative IVSS in Europe. During the workshop results of the project will be presented and feedback from the attendees will be asked. The main focus will be on instruments for deployment of IVSS and how to arrive at commonly accepted implementation strategies. You can find the program here.

Your views and opinions are important to us and therefore we would like to invite you to attend this workshop. It will be held on February 26th at hotel Karel V in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Utrecht is centrally located in the Netherlands and only a half hour away from Schiphol Airport.
